Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"and he took food and was strengthened. And he was certain days with the disciples that were at Damascus. And straightway in the synagogues he proclaimed Jesus, that he is the Son of God." — Acts 9:19-20 (ASV)
Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus. And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
And had they ever heard such a preacher before? How the unbelievers gnashed their teeth at him; and how the timid saints crept in and heard this man advocate—this man who had experienced a wonderful twist in his mind from which he never recovered—who had seen something—though he himself could still hardly tell all that he had seen. Oh! It must have been a remarkable experience to hear his preaching that Christ is the Son of God.
