Commentary #1
Verses 1-2

"If then ye were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth." — Colossians 3:1-2 (ASV)

If you then are risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

This is the best proof that we are really "risen with Christ," that we set our affection on things above.

Commentary #2
Verse 1

"If then ye were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God." — Colossians 3:1 (ASV)

If you then are risen with Christ—

Leave all these outward rituals, and formalities, and ordinances of men—

Verses 1-3

"If then ye were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth. For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God." — Colossians 3:1-3 (ASV)

Seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

For you are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Verse 1

"If then ye were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God." — Colossians 3:1 (ASV)

If you then are risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God.

Your Lord and Master has gone up to heaven. You profess that he represents you, and that you have gone up there in him and with him. Then do not seek the things that are here below, the things of earth; but live where your life has gone. Where your treasure is, there let your heart be also. Seek those things which are above.

Verses 2-3

"Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth. For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God." — Colossians 3:2-3 (ASV)

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

For ye are dead, –

You profess to be dead to the world; is that profession false?

You have observed that Scriptural ordinance in which you profess to be buried with Christ; was that observance only an empty form?

If there was any truth in your profession, Ye are dead,
