"Fathers, provoke not your children, that they be not discouraged." — Colossians 3:21 (ASV)

Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

Some fathers do; they expect more from children than they will ever receive, and more than they should expect; and they lay heavy burdens on them, which are grievous to bear; and for small faults, there are severe chastisements. This also is wrong.
