Charles Spurgeon Commentary Exodus 12:7

"And they shall take of the blood, and put it on the two side-posts and on the lintel, upon the houses wherein they shall eat it." — Exodus 12:7 (ASV)

And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

Not on the threshold, lest it be trampled upon; and woe to the man who tramples upon the blood of Christ! On the two side posts and on the lintel was placed the mark indicating that God had redeemed the inhabitants of that house with blood.
