Charles Spurgeon Commentary Galatians 3:11

"Now that no man is justified by the law before God, is evident: for, The righteous shall live by faith;" — Galatians 3:11 (ASV)

But that no man is justified by the law, in the sight of God is evident: for the just shall live by faith.

This passage is again and again repeated in the Scriptures: The just shall live by faith. There are no other just men living, there cannot be any other just men living, but those that live by faith.

But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

Scripture lays it down as a rule, that justified men live by faith; if this is the rule, then certainly they do not live by works.

Here Paul quotes again from the Old Testament Scriptures: The just shall live by faith. Even the just man lives by faith; then, how can you who are not just expect to live in any other way?
