SCRIPTURE

"But the scriptures shut up all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe." — Galatians 3:22 (ASV)

But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

All of us, by nature, are shut up like criminals in a prison that is so securely bolted and barred that there is no hope of escape for any who are confined within it. But why are all the doors shut and fastened? It is so that Christ may come and open the one only eternal door of salvation: that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believes.
