Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat." — Genesis 3:12 (ASV)
And the man said, The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
This is a clear proof of his guilt, first, that he throws the blame on her whom he was bound to love and shield; and next, that he throws the blame on God himself: The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree. Alas, what wretched creatures men are when sin comes in, and shame follows at its heels!
