Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"And now be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life." — Genesis 45:5 (ASV)
And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt. Now therefore be not grieved, not angry with yourselves, that you sold me here: for God did send me before you to preserve life.
"You did very wrong, but I say nothing about that, for I want you to notice how God has overruled your action, how your sin has been made to be the means of your preservation and the preservation of many besides: God did send me before you to preserve life."
