Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. And the Holy Spirit also beareth witness to us; for after he hath said, This is the covenant that I will make with them After those days, saith the Lord: I will put my laws on their heart, And upon their mind also will I write them; [then saith he,] And their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more." — Hebrews 10:14-17 (ASV)
For by one offering he has perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Oh, what a blessed covenant this is! Christ's death has established a covenant of grace in which there is no flaw, and no possibility of failure, for the one Condition of the covenant has been fulfilled by Christ, and now it stands as a covenant of "shalls" and "wills" on God's part from which he will never go back. It is not, "If they do this, and if they do that, I will do the other;" but it is all "I will." I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
