SCRIPTURE

"In whole burnt offerings and [sacrifices] for sin thou hadst no pleasure: Then said I, Lo, I am come (In the roll of the book it is written of me) To do thy will, O God. Saying above, Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and [sacrifices] for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein (the which are offered according to the law), then hath he said, Lo, I am come to do thy will. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second." — Hebrews 10:6-9 (ASV)

In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you have had no pleasure. Then said I, Look, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me) to do your will, God. Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin you would not, neither had pleasure in them; which are offered by the law; then said he, Look, I come to do your will, O God. He takes away the first, that he may establish the second.

So that he may bring in the real sacrifice of which the others were only types and prefigurations.
