Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things make it manifest that they are seeking after a country of their own." — Hebrews 11:13-14 (ASV)
But having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
They have not come to it yet; nor will they as long as they are here on earth. They are still seeking a country.
