Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"It is for chastening that ye endure; God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is there whom [his] father chasteneth not?" — Hebrews 12:7 (ASV)
If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not?
God had one Son without sin, but he never had a son without suffering, and the Son who was without sin was the Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
