SCRIPTURE

"[Let] marriage [be] had in honor among all, and [let] the bed [be] undefiled: for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee." — Hebrews 13:4-5 (ASV)

Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

There is a fortune for you, that is a pension to fall back upon.

You may very well be content to leave your temporal concerns in the hands of God, for he has said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Why, if you believe that one promise of God, he will be better to you than ten thousand friends who promise to provide for you! The Provider in heaven is better than any provider on earth.

A beautiful motto is that of the old house of Chester, "God's providence is my inheritance."
