"Wherefore also he is able to save to the uttermost them that draw near unto God through him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them." — Hebrews 7:25 (ASV)

We want just that high priest who would live on throughout all ages forever, to sustain his people, and do for them all they should need to have done for them, until time shall be no more.
