SCRIPTURE

"I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought." — Hosea 13:5 (ASV)

I did know you in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.

Look back upon the days of your trouble, when God was very near to you; do you not remember when he was everything to you? When you were poor, when you were sick, when you were despised, God did know you then; yet now you sing:

"What peaceful hours I then enjoyed!
How sweet their memory still!"
