"Lo, these shall come from far; and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim." — Isaiah 49:12 (ASV)
Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.
"The land of Sinim" signifies China. Is it not strange that, in this Book, we should find mention of the land of Sinim, the country of China? But God has a people there, and they shall come to him. I was delighted, last Tuesday, to meet with a brother who had broken bread with us at the Lord's table; he was a poor Chinese man, so he had helped to fulfill this prophecy: These shall come from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.
