"For, as for thy waste and thy desolate places, and thy land that hath been destroyed, surely now shalt thou be too strait for the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away. The children of thy bereavement shall yet say in thine ears, The place is too strait for me; give place to me that I may dwell." — Isaiah 49:19-20 (ASV)
For your waste and your desolate places, and the land of your destruction, will even now be too narrow because of the inhabitants, and those who swallowed you up will be far away. The children which you will have, after you have lost the other, –
The children of your childlessness – so it runs – the children of your widowhood. It was strange that she should have children then; it is not so among men, but it is so with the Church of God: The children which you will have, after you have lost the other, –
