Charles Spurgeon Commentary Isaiah 54:6-7

"For Jehovah hath called thee as a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, even a wife of youth, when she is cast off, saith thy God. For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee." — Isaiah 54:6-7 (ASV)

For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God. For a small moment have I forsaken thee;

A moment is a small period of time, but it is made to appear still smaller by that little word "small."
