Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"For the sun ariseth with the scorching wind, and withereth the grass: and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his goings." — James 1:11 (ASV)
Of the fashion of it perishes: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
No matter how luxurious may be his mode of living, no matter how admirable may be his taste, he will certainly fade, and all that he has will fade, too; and if this is all that can be said of him, that he is a rich man, he is a very poor creature indeed.
