SCRIPTURE

"And it shall come to pass in that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds; and strangers shall no more make him their bondman; but they shall serve Jehovah their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them." — Jeremiah 30:8-9 (ASV)

For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him. But they shall serve the LORD their God and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

See how the chapter has returned to the comforting strain again.

After the bass notes, we run up the scale. We have come to comfort again. I would not be surprised if we have to go back, however, for so it is, God's mercy is checkered work, black and white, sorrow and salvation.
