Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit. Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods that ye have not known, and come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered; that ye may do all these abominations?" — Jeremiah 7:8-10 (ASV)
Will you quote the very decree of God as an excuse for your sin?
Will you make it out that even he is partaker in your criminality?
That will never do; only a lying heart could conceive of such an abomination.
