SCRIPTURE

"Oh that my words were now written! Oh that they were inscribed in a book! That with an iron pen and lead They were graven in the rock for ever!" — Job 19:23-24 (ASV)

Inscriptions have been found, engraved in the rocks, that may have been made in the time of Job, and it was common, in ancient times, to write on tablets of lead or brass; so Job desired that what he was saying might be recorded for future reference, for he was persuaded that he was being dealt with harshly, and unjustly judged.
