Charles Spurgeon Commentary John 1:34

"And I have seen, and have borne witness that this is the Son of God." — John 1:34 (ASV)

And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

Hear, then, the witness of John. The Christ, who came from Nazareth to be baptized by him in Jordan, he on whom the Holy Ghost descended like a dove, this is the Son of God. This is the sin-bearing Lamb. Oh, that you and I might fulfill John's expectation, for he spoke that we might believe. He, being dead, yet speaks. May we believe his witness, and be assured that this is the Son of God!
