Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"And Jesus turned, and beheld them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? And they said unto him, Rabbi (which is to say, being interpreted, Teacher), where abideth thou? He saith unto them, Come, and ye shall see. They came therefore and saw where he abode; and they abode with him that day: it was about the tenth hour." — John 1:38-39 (ASV)
Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and said to them, What do you seek? They said to him, Rabbi (which is to say, being interpreted, Master), where do you dwell? He said to them, Come and see.
He gave them a full invitation to come to the place where he was staying, and see for themselves. That is what Jesus still says, "Come and see." If any of you want to know him, "Come and see." You are perfectly welcome to "Come and see" all that Jesus has to show you.
They said to him, Rabbi (which is to say, being interpreted, Master), where do you dwell? He says to them, Come and see.
Which is often his answer to inquirers – Come and see. Oh! taste and see that the Lord is good. Learn by experience. Do not merely hear what I say, but come and see.
