Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"When he hath put forth all his own, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers." — John 10:4-5 (ASV)
And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
Christ is the great Leader of his people, and they will never go astray as long as they follow him. The sheep of Christ recognize their Shepherd's voice, and come at his call; but "strangers" call to them in vain.
