"And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto myself." — John 12:32 (ASV)
And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
Christ on the cross draws all men up to himself. I have heard this text quoted as if it referred to Christ being extolled in preaching.
Well, it is true that, when Christ is lifted up in the ministry, there is an attractive power; but that is not the first meaning of the text. Let us read on:
