SCRIPTURE

"For I spake not from myself; but the Father that sent me, he hath given me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak." — John 12:49 (ASV)

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

God at the back of Christ. Omnipotence supporting love. The expostulations of Christ, not left to our will to do as we like with them, but solemnly sanctioned by the sovereign authority of God, so that to refute them is treason against the majesty of heaven.
