Charles Spurgeon Commentary John 14:29

"And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe." — John 14:29 (ASV)

And now I have told you before it came to pass, that, when it is come to pass, you might believe.

Jesus warned his disciples of all that was to happen in his death and in his departure. I believe that the Spirit of God often gives inward warnings to God's people of troubles that are to come—admonitions, so that they may be prepared for the trouble when it comes, and may feel as if he had told them before it came to pass.
