Charles Spurgeon Commentary John 15:9-10

"Even as the Father hath loved me, I also have loved you: abide ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father`s commandments, and abide in his love." — John 15:9-10 (ASV)

Continue in my love. If you keep any commandments, you shall abide in my love;

Note this point of the Lord's discipline: not that Christ ever casts away his people, but that he does take from them the sweet sense of his love, the realization of it, if they are disobedient to him and do not keep his commandments.
