Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"As thou didst send me into the world, even so sent I them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth." — John 17:18-19 (ASV)
As you have sent me into the world, even so I have also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself,
Or, "I set myself apart."
As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. "I set myself apart unto holiness, that they also might be set apart unto holy uses through the truth."
As you have sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself,
"I separate myself to this work; I dedicate, devote, consecrate myself wholly for their sakes."
