Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"Father, I desire that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, the world knew thee not, but I knew thee; and these knew that thou didst send me; and I made known unto them thy name, and will make it known; that the love wherewith thou lovedst me may be in them, and I in them." — John 17:24-26 (ASV)
Father, I will that they also, whom you have given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which you have given me: for you love me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, the world has not known you: but I have known you, and these have known that you have sent me. And I have declared to them your name, and will declare it: that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.
This blessed prayer was heard by the Father; all of it must be fulfilled, and untold blessings do and will come to us through this intercession of our Lord, blessed be his holy name!

"Your character, your work," –
Father, I will that they also, whom you have given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which you have given me: for you loved me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, the world has not known you, but I have known you, and these have known that you have sent me. And I have declared to them your name, and will declare it: that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.
Oh, for a blessed fulfillment of that prayer in our experience this very moment, for Christ's sake! Amen.
