Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.

In this, uttering a prophecy that he himself did not fully understand, speaking like another Balaam, through whom God spoke the truth, as he once did through the donkey that Balaam rode.

Sometimes, God makes the most vile men the unconscious utterers of truth that they themselves do not comprehend.
