Charles Spurgeon Commentary John 19:14

"Now it was the Preparation of the passover: it was about the sixth hour. And he saith unto the Jews, Behold, your King!" — John 19:14 (ASV)

And it was the preparation of the Passover, and about the sixth hour: and he says to the Jews, Behold your King!

They had accused him of being a King, or of pretending to be one. Pilate had scourged him, the soldiers had mocked him, and there he stood piteous spectacle of woe. What cruel sarcasm there was in the tones of the Governor when he said to the Jews, "Behold your King."
