SCRIPTURE

"When she had thus said, she turned herself back, and beholdeth Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou hast borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away." — John 20:14-15 (ASV)

And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou?

Christ often repeats the words of his messengers, as if to endorse them. The angels said, Woman, why weepest thou? The angels' Master says the same. I pray to him, tonight, not only to give me the right word to say, but also to say it himself to your hearts. But Jesus added another question to the angels' Woman, why weepest thou?
