Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"So when they had broken their fast, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, [son] of John, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs." — John 21:15 (ASV)
He said to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.
He was wise in not measuring his love compared to that of his fellow disciples, or in speaking of its quantity, but he affirmed that even Christ knew that he truly loved Him.
He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
"Feed My Lambs: A Sabbath-school Sermon." "Do not go after fish any more, but attend to my business: 'feed my lambs.' The proof of your greater love to me than to all worldly things will be found in your doing of the work which I have committed to your charge."
Jesus says to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, do you love me more than these?
He had talked as if he did: Although all shall be offended, yet will not I.
