Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it have been given him from heaven." — John 3:27 (ASV)
John answered and said, A man can receive nothing unless it is given Him from heaven.
No spiritual power, no power to bless his fellow men, unless it comes from God. Shall I quarrel with God, therefore, if he gives to this man more power than he gives to me? Shall I dispute about it?
It is God's sovereign will, and he does as he pleases.
