Charles Spurgeon Commentary John 6:12

"And when they were filled, he saith unto his disciples, Gather up the broken pieces which remain over, that nothing be lost." — John 6:12 (ASV)

He said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.

Economy in the midst of bounty. However much we have, we are never warranted in wasting a single crumb. They had as much as they would, but they were not allowed to cast away the fragments.

When they were filled,

Had all they could desire.
