SCRIPTURE

"I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died." — John 6:48-49 (ASV)

I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

He does not say, "Our fathers." He comes out, as it were, as much from the Jews as from the Gentile ungodly world, and he says, Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
