SCRIPTURE

"They sought therefore to take him: and no man laid his hand on him, because his hour was not yet come. But of the multitude many believed on him; and they said, When the Christ shall come, will he do more signs than those which this man hath done?" — John 7:30-31 (ASV)

Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come. And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?

Well might they ask that question, for Jesus had performed such marvelous miracles that they could not imagine anything greater.

Surely this must be the Christ; or if he were not, when the Christ did come, could he and would he do any greater miracles than this man had done?
