Charles Spurgeon Commentary John 9:34-36

"They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out. Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and finding him, he said, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? He answered and said, And who is he, Lord, that I may believe on him?" — John 9:34-36 (ASV)

And they cast him out. Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said to him, Do you believe on the Son of God? He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?

He wanted instruction. Christ may have done much for a man, but he may not as yet fully know the Lord. There may be some here tonight on whom Christ has worked a great deal, and yet you do not know him as you will know him: Do you believe on the Son of God?
