SCRIPTURE

"And ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat of the fruits, the old store; until the ninth year, until its fruits come in, ye shall eat the old store." — Leviticus 25:22 (ASV)

They were to have enough for the year of rest, and for the next year while the harvest was growing, and still have something left over for the ninth year. They could scarcely need that much; but God would give them more than they actually needed, exceeding abundantly above what they asked or even thought. That Sabbatical year had other blessings connected with it. Let us read about them in the book of Deuteronomy 15.
