SCRIPTURE

"and be ye yourselves like unto men looking for their lord, when he shall return from the marriage feast; that, when he cometh and knocketh, they may straightway open unto him." — Luke 12:36 (ASV)

And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

Brothers and sisters, whatever theory we hold about the future, may God grant that it may never prevent us from looking for the coming of Christ as an event which may happen at any moment, and from being on the watch for it as a matter whose date we do not know! The practical essence of all Scriptural teaching on that subject is just this, Ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their Lord, when he will return from the wedding.
