SCRIPTURE

"Nevertheless I must go on my way to-day and to-morrow and the [day] following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem." — Luke 13:33 (ASV)

Nevertheless I must walk today, and tomorrow, and the day following for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

What a sad thing for Christ to have to say! So many holy men had been murdered in Jerusalem that He roughly put it as being true, for the most part, that all the prophets were martyred there, the exceptions only proving the rule.
