Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"For the Son of man came to seek and to save that which was lost." — Luke 19:10 (ASV)
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
If, at this time, we ask our Lord Jesus, "Where are you going, Divine Master?" His answer still is, "I am come to seek and to save that which was lost."
"Have you come for those who think themselves good enough without you?" He shakes His head and says, "I am a Physician, and the whole have no need of a Physician, but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."
The gospel of the grace of God is for the guilty. If you are not guilty, there is no gospel for you. But if you are guilty and confess it, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
