"And when the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were fulfilled, they brought him up to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord" — Luke 2:22 (ASV)
And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;
Everything was done that was required by the Jewish law, you see. When the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
Being found in fashion as a man, and a man under the Jewish law, Jesus and his parents were obedient to all its requirements.
