SCRIPTURE

"And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation." — Luke 22:40 (ASV)

And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.

He knew what severe temptation meant, and he was about to feel it at its utmost. Therefore, he exhorted his disciples to pray just as he had formerly taught them in the model prayer, Lead us not into temptation.
