Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they were going: and he made as though he would go further." — Luke 24:28 (ASV)
And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went:
They were sorry to be nearing their destination. They would have liked to walk to the ends of the earth in such company, and listening to such conversation.
And he made as though he would have gone further.
Christ intended to go further unless the two disciples constrained him to stay with them.
And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went:
And they were sorry, I have no doubt, to do so. One would like to walk on for all eternity with Christ, conversing thus along the way.
