Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"And as they spake these things, he himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace [be] unto you." — Luke 24:36 (ASV)
And as they thus spoke, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and said unto them, Peace be unto you.
This was the common Jewish salutation; but, from then on, it would be sanctified most divinely, and it would be a Christian greeting to say, "Peace be unto you."
