"And the devil said unto him, To thee will I give all this authority, and the glory of them: for it hath been delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it." — Luke 4:6 (ASV)

Does he not talk proudly in the presence of his Lord and Master? What an audacious dog he must have been to howl thus in the presence of him who could have destroyed him by a look or a word, if he had wished to do so!
