Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, who had spent all her living upon physicians, and could not be healed of any, came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately the issue of her blood stanched." — Luke 8:43-44 (ASV)
And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
This disease laughs at the physicians, and whenever a cure has been effected, it has always been a slow one. Hence the supernatural character of this cure, Immediately her issue of blood stanched.
This is the glory of our blessed religion, that it heals sin-sick souls at once and upon the spot. The moment a man believes in Jesus, his nature is changed; he becomes a new creature: in that moment all his sins are gone: in that same hour he becomes heir of God, and joint-heir with Christ. Immediately.
